The annual SIBBM Seminar is one of the most successful regularly held Italian scientific events, which aims at bringing together top international and national speakers at the leading-edge of the most innovative molecular biology topics, in close contact with junior participants.
This year, our 18th Seminar will cover several topics of great interest: genomic and epigenetic landscape and architecture; RNA metabolism and Epitranscriptomics; Molecular machineries and biomolecular condensates; Gene function and therapeutic applications.
In an approach which could be dubbed "Next-generation Molecular Biology", the Seminar will try to integrate several layers of heterogeneous information, managed and interpreted through Big Data Bioinformatics to generate novel biological knowledge and provide new important perspectives on the regulation of gene expression and the evolution of complex organisms. It is common understanding that there are still many unexplored and unknown functions of chromatin architecture, sub cellular aggregates and non-coding RNAs. The SIBBM Seminar 2023 will focus on the most important and recent advances in the above fields, both basic and applied.
Active participation from young scientists is very welcome and will be fostered, selecting many abstracts for talks and providing a reduced fee for registration of junior participants.
Moreover, several prizes will be awarded, including the SIBBM Riccardo Cortese prize for the best selected talk, the "Francesca Martini" prize from NAnA Onlus for the best poster on cancer research, and several poster prizes.
We are also pleased to announce that a limited number of Childcare Grants will be provided by SIBBM for this conference to offset childcare costs incurred by participants or speakers when participating in this event.
We hope you enjoy the programme and that you will participate in large numbers!
